For the evening
for the middle of the night

What am I supposed to do
when I'm pickin' up the phone
and find myself calling you
Tho' you won't be coming home

A lot of times I feel you
when I'm driving down the road
so strong I check the rearview mirror
and pray I'm not alone

I know that you weren't perfect.
but hell, I don't know who is
And only God can judge a man
by what he said and did.

Stay with me this evening
sleep in my easy chair tonight
I'll miss your laugh and all you were
til' my own soul takes its flight

I know I'll live life to its fullest
but it hurts when i'm alone
Would you please still call on Saturdays
I'f I'm waiting by the phone.

I miss you Pops...it only hurts when I breathe.

Ahh Zaac.... a truly beautiful tribute. And the pain... it never goes away..... it only gives you reprieves and when you least expect it....... there it is again. But each time the bearing gets easier... That is all one can truly hope. You have taken my breathe away with how much pain and love is there. Beautiful Zaac just truly a beautiful Write.

No prob MR ZAAC - but I think you should capitalize PD
Anyway - heartfelt sentiments - I kinda kept my response down to a minimum, as I've never met my "Father" --- I'm quite fond of saying my Mama is and was my Daddy and Mommy.... So - It was like an emotional rush to read your poem - especially the dedication part.
