By Your Side

I believe faith bought us here,
In each other's arms.
and faith already had the notion.
That we are different.
i feel the restraints and the bumps,
The moodiness, the gripes,
and the tension I have sensed,
Through this path of love.
I feel our love is a river,
Not expecting the high tides,
Or when the weather will change,
Or when the water calms down.
We push each other away,
but still feel needed by the other.
Feeling coldness in our bodies,
And willing to feel the heart with a touch.
Both of us feeling drained,
Thinking where do we go from here.
But I look through your watery eyes.
As you wrapped your arms around me,
and kiss your forehead.
I feel the warmth from your face.
I know it's worth the effort,
That I'll be forever,
By your side.

I wasn't sure about this poem at first until I read it all the way through and found it an exact picture of the gives and takes, ebbs and flows of a normal relationship between two people.

i understand. When I first work on this poem I had a hard timing wording it and having it speak back to me. after a few revisions, i found my poem.
