The Assonance Game

This is called "The Assonance Game". An "Assonance" is a term or technique often used in poetry, and is a vowel rhyme, or words that have the same vowel sound.

Our vowels are {a, e, i, o, and u}.

We will make up sentences using vowel rhymes or words for each vowel, then restart again. Please highlight the letters involved in making the vowel sound. This is not too hard, yet not too easy either!

My example is for the vowel sound of the letter "o", and is as follows:

The slowly growing mighty oak did shade our home for years.

Hope I'm doing this right! (I have no idea why it is putting spaces before the red letters!) I got the letter "i":

I
gu ide
with pr ide
and div ide
the p ie
bes ide
the w ide
t ie.

I guide with pride and divide the pie beside the wide tie. Does that make any sense? Maybe I should have stopped after the second drink! LOL!

So next person gets the letter O. Good luck - this is harder than it looks!

Yes, we must put our thinking caps on, or fill (and re-fill) our glasses with spirits for the game! LOL!!!!

Ok, I have "O".....

I woke up by the ring of my oak clock, and soaked in the tub, and wrote a novell, all before leaving home.

Next person has the vowel "u"
