Default JPiC Gets Optimized For Search Engines! MsJacquiiC Started This Thread
Thanks in part to our JPiC Contributors - Poetry in Color Forum now has the best search engine optimization available for vBulletin. I have spent the better part of 3 or 4 hours installing & optimizing the system for JPiC Forum.

As stated on the JPiC Donation page and the November Newsletter, vBSEO will help make JPiC readily visible for those who search the internet for writing & poetry forums! Hopefully being so very visible on the internet will entice internet surfers to register with our Community first. And when those surfers see what we have to offer - I'm sure the number of Registered Members will grow substantially, adding to the great abundance of talent that already exists here on JPiC.

So thanx to all of you who've made charitable contributions for the vBSEO system! Your generosity is much appreciated!

Now About The Features:

SOCIAL BOOKMARKING -- When responding to threads there will be several options for you to make. There is a function known as "social bookmarking" which will allow you to share a post/thread with possibly thousands of internet surfers via digg.com, del.icio.us, technorati.com and/or furl.net ---- This is also a very popular way of getting the word out about the forum!

The 1st pic below shows that particular function in the LinkBack dropdown box, next to the Thread Tools that are in at the top of each thread display... The 2nd shows the buttons on each post, right beneath the Member Signature...

The social bookmarking feature is purely OPTIONAL to use - Those of you who are computer savvy may wish to use them, others of you may not... Additionally - you may need to be a registered participant of those websites. (Don't quote me on it - but it may be a possibility...)

ADD THREAD TITLE LINK -- A really neat feature of vBSEO (one of my favorites) is the Thread Title Link... This feature automatically adds the link name of a regular url. Say you want to let someone know a webaddress:
  1. You type www.websitename.com OR http://websitename.com
  2. The link shows as "Name Of Website" as a clickable link

For instance: http://JPiCForum.info will automatically show as Poetry in Color Forum

**NOTE** There is no bbcode formatting needed, as this is an automatic function/feature of vBSEO.

Other Features -- There are many other features of vBSEO. Though most are subtle and discreetly performed in the background, they are highly important to the success of the Search Engine Optimization:
  1. Instead of JPiC pages ending in .php, most are now "rewritten" to .html pages
  2. LinkBacks (Ping/Track/Refbacks) - more info on those can be found HERE
  3. A huge amount of Administrator functions and many other settings...

Now ----> I know a lot of you are not a COMPUTER GEEK like myself lol = So you may opt not to use the the Social Bookmarking features... You may just choose to ignore the vBSEO at anyrate, as it mostly works in the background...

But for those of you interested in reading more about vBSEO - Additional information about vBSEO may be found at vBSEO - Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Friendly URLs for your vBulletin Forum - vBulletin Modification Discussions

Again -----> A HUGE THANX TO THE JPiC CONTRIBUTORS!

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---
