BY: MISSC
Damn shut up
I don’t feel like this shit
I am late to work again
And I’m having a fit
Damnnit why is it crazy in this life
This whole damn story is full of strife
I am tired of this shit
Different homieloverfriends
Walking in and out, in and out
Then after they fuck, niggas want to make amends
Damn I’m tired of this shit
Sorry ass baby daddy
Broke with interest
Fuck it, It seems as if I’m hell’s caddy
Damn I’m tired of this shit
Raising a daughter by my got damn self
Damn, can a bitch get some help
Yes, assholes, I called myself a bitch
I am angry at the world, & my attitude is
“the world owes me everything”
shit my pussy got a twitch, my attitude need a fix
and my emotions are a little mixed
a cup of resentment, a tablespoon of confusion, and an ass of determination
but, for real, who really gives a fuck about my struggle
shit my daughter only give a fuck about “high school musical”
This a fucked up nation
Poor getting poorer, rich getting richer
And I am stuck
The damn govt. wont help a bitch that work, go to school, and only made one child
Only trifling bitches who’s content with nothing and always being loud, shrewd, rude
An exact depiction of every single African american sterotype
Those dumb bitches be having the nerve to tell me “you ain’t really black”
Shit me, my skin is as dark as smut, and my experiences in life constitutes being “black”
Not slack, fat, a fucking door mat
Fuck this shit

Re: aggravated
lol! I hope after getting this off your chest you felt better! I certainly felt a sort of release at the end! If I smoked...AND if I cussed...I'd lighting one up right now! Aggravated, angry and frustrated is what I got from that, along with just a teensy bit of whining (grinning-we all do it)
It is certainly a peek inside the head, and emotional state of single mothers for the most part though...I know I've been there...not ALL the way there...but been there.

P.S. that song pops into my head "Waiting...waiting...waiting on the world to change"

I really like the poem. It definetly shows alot of anger. But that's what poetry's for, a way to express yourself fully ^^ Really nice job with it, and the cussing just gave it a 'wow' affect I hope things get better for you

Re: aggravated
Comika,
Yes the government will help you get an education, but it's very difficult for a single mother. We still have to work, and time becomes even more rare than money. You might even get a little extra money. You can take night classes. If that's what you really want, you can do it. It's never too late. You have incredible talent, and your honesty about your feelings is a life bouy to others like yourself.
I just went through the process, so if you have any questions about how to get financial help, please feel free to ask. I would be glad to help you all I can.

Re: aggravated
Hello Jolie,
I really appreciate your willingness to help. I am currently in college right now. I will obtain my associate in Liberal arts next quarter and continue on to a BA. I am really undecided right now on my carrer choice. So I figured I'd get an associates during my BA path to decorate my resume a little. I am really starting to see that something is better than nothing at all. You are right. I do qualify for student loans and pell based on my income and family size but what I was referring to was govt. assistance programs in housing, food, child care, etc. etc. In my state, if you attend a four-year college, and not a vocational or Jr. college, somehow you are not qualified for childcare assistance during school. If you do not have a job at all, they will give a little assistance that seems ridiculous. If you go out and try to do better for yourself, then you make too much money and you don't get any asssistance at all. They cut you off quick, fast, and in a hurry. If you go to college, work, and have children, you really don't qualify. I don't qualify for anything. It's like if I chose to raise my daughter in the projects, get a low paying job, and had no determination to do better, I qualify. But since I choose to only accaept a pay I deserve, live in a safe neighborhood, go to an accredited college and attempt to obtain degrees, and raise my daughter, I don't qualify. Thats what I mean when I say the govt. don't want to help...... I would think that even if one was on assistance and started making more money. Although she did not live in govt. housing, the govt. would continue to offer suppport to that mother to maintain her independence. Not just as soon as she is not in poverty and little above the practically poor line, let her be on her own. I think single mothers should qualify for assistance while their in college. I think that I shouldn't have to have three kids in order to qualify for assistance with a $12 an hour job. Assistance is meant to assist not actually do everything. It suppose to be that crutch to help you walk until your legs grow stronger. I think the people who want to really use it as a temporary crutch do not qualify but the people who want it to be their legs and the part-time job the crutch, they qualify. That is so backward! Okay, enough with my whining. I could go on for days. I am bored at work.
