The sky is churning, rumbling today
though I can't understand what its trying to say

blue sky to my eye is now pale grey

maybe its a warning of winters chill
and bad times near,
for in it I still wander like a reckless child

the first dusting of snow
like delicate powdered sugar
drifts its way to land on fresh faces

the snow floats to my window
like little white pixies
climbing on the wind

I haven't forgotten how surprises come,
so much after times where none came to appear

and I cherish every blessing far and near.

I liked this stanza best ERIK, as it really epitomizes the title of "Bustle in the Air" --- it gives the poem or more light feel, whereas the warning in the 3rd stanza made me cringe a bit, as I've always liked the winter season, it's special to me actually, especially when the snow falls --- It just automatically gives me a feeling of familiarity and warmth...

At anyrate - I like how you tied the poem up with blessings. A nice write = Thanx for sharing it with us!

Jacquii.

ps - is the snow stickin' in VA - I bet it's just beautiful!

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

Greetings to you Erik:

As I sit here in the chilly morning, I see white flakes of new snow swirling about. Which makes your lovely poem in tune with my wintery scene right through my frosted window.
What a splendid way to begin my day.

Thanks for sharing

Blessings
