**I know it is not Decemeber yet, but tomorrow it will be so I felt this was fit**

The joyous season has come again
That started with a star and three wise men
Celebrating the birth of baby Jesus
With happiness and cheer he gave us
Lights and carolers fill the street
And families decorate their Christmas tree
Children hang their stocking
Waiting for Santa to come knocking
They leave him delicious treats
So he won't feel too weak
The lights still light the night
As everyone sleeps this winter night
Santa and his reindeer are near
Knowing Christmas is here

Carolers, lights brightening the night, stockings hung over the fireplace, presents and cheerful anticipation and cooperation during the holiday season. That's what I experienced in earlier years.
What I've seen on the newscasts nowadays has me wondering if the fun of this time of year is not what it used to be. Black Thursday and Friday? People trampled and pepper sprayed all in the name of bargains and the perfect present. Hmm.
Yet there are still those who try to retain the optomism. I think this poem personifizes that spirit.

This is the reason why this holiday exists in the first place.
The joyous season has come again

Thank you for posting this poem Nicholas.

Nice nikram... It gave me a little lift when I read it... Thanks!

Gail! how are you, hon? We do indeed need to maintain our optimism in all things, especially Christmas... so many seek to tear it down. It's the only holiday where the goodwill of mankind really pours out of their hearts and it lifts the spirits of so many, many hopeless, even if it's for one day.

A quaint little poem meant to inspire reverie during the holiday season. Nice write Nick = thanks for the sharing!

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---
