Dali's Return

The sea rose and roared like
a mouth to a cave opening eastward.
A wall of snow white lions emerge,
claws and teeth bearing, bent and curled,
coming back time and again.
~
Waters subdue. Bubbles of saliva burp,
spill backward
underneath the next coming rage,
breaking in silver beads,
racing to meet the thickening fog, and
~
dark figures that emerge
thrusting shovels into the sand,
to reveal a giant cracked egg,
chunks of shell giving way
to Dali’s return.
~
The figures circle and bow,
throw their heads back, and
screech like nesting chicks.
Clouds like giants fists roll in
squeezing drops of breast milk
onto their waiting tongues.
Jolie

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do." (Eleanor Roosevelt)

Thanks Mysty,
This is the first surreal poem I've tried. It was kind of fun to dream up.
