Default The downhill skier Terence Started This Thread
He stood atop the mountain, high;
the world lay at his feet.
But little did he know this track
would be the one to beat
… the downhill skier

For years he’d tried, and finally,
he’d made it to the top;
his life was always full-ahead,
nobody dared to stop
… the downhill skier

He started down the slope with speed
and then began to blow,
for he was getting out of breath.
There was no way to slow
… the downhill skier

Snow dust was flying everywhere;
it all went up his nose.
His friends called out for him to quit
but no one could oppose
… the downhill skier

He kept along the two white lines,
and he made good headway,
until an avalanche came down
and quickly swept away
… the downhill skier

He lay cold on his table top;
a glint was in one eye
as if he finally had found
a trip to satisfy
… the downhill skier

LOL,
That was a rotten trip - love these narrative poems, great description and action.

Thanks for your comments Jolie. It was certainly a rotten 'trip'. From your response, I'm not sure if you got the full gist but I'll take it that you did.

Thanks, Terence

Wonderful story in this and well told.
Good rhyming and rhythm and meter.
This was really well written. I very
much enjoyed, thanks!

Nightlife calls me.
Through her I am free.
It's the only way to be,
all caught up in a mystery!
Born with full moon fever,
I can make you a believer!
For I am the moonchild,
truly born to be wild!
