A Falcon’s Path
A Peregrine Falcon circled,
mountain escape below
alone on wind glided
in confident balance.
His gold wings carved
against silent skies
my attention satisfied
a revelation to sense.
He changed path,
over head flew, fading way
on westward passage.
His likeness shinned in my eyes.
I searched for feather
below his flight path
something to hold and keep,
but nothing remained,
except the treasure
of his beauty
to seed my imagination
and renew my wonder.
