FRUITS OF LIFE ~ VILLANELLE

Fruits of life on our table are laid.
Though sour we sup from love's grapevine.
From birth to death a price is paid.

When heart we need we get a spade
then lost where do we draw the line?
Fruits of life on our table are laid.

Sometimes ourselves we wish to trade
with someone else whose life is fine.
From birth to death a price is paid.

Sometimes the parts we play are jade
but still with grapes we make the wine.
Fruits of life on our table are laid.

Autumns thrive as summers fade
yet somehow sun will always shine.
From birth to death a price is paid.

Our lives are not always self made.
Fate can control a life like mine.

Hi moonchild, it's a bit hard to read in places but, yes, we have to deal with what life hands us, whether good or bad.

I like the way this read,

especially liked:

Interesting read on "fate". I kind a like to think
we deal those hearts and spades and when lost hopefully
know when and where to draw that line.

At least from that viewpoint
I can maintain some sanity, otherwise for me I do feel lost.

I have been doing them for several years now and have quite a bit of them.

Hi RR, I have to disagree with you cause I don't
believe we deal our own cards. Even in the card games
someone else deals them to us and if people are going to keep
trying to knock you down how are you suppossed to move or breath?
They should have respect, decency and heart to not do that.

I did like the poem, the flow and even the meaning and I feel like you describe (often).
Your writes are always thought provoking and I like to think at least sometimes.
But I do feel we have some choice, It's kind of like you say,

"...trying to knock you down how are you suppossed to move or breath?
They should have respect, decency and heart to not do that."

I think we have the choice to like you say deal "...with respect, decency and a heart..." I think we "CAN" deal those cards to others and likely if we do we don't get so many bad hands coming back. Kind of like Karma (can we deal good karma) I guess that is what I meant.

No disrespect intended, just some of my rambling thougths.

Again I did like you piece, You definitely "dealt" a good poem here.
