The Hawk The moon and The maiden
~

The moon is a brilliant Ivory orb
Sitting high in the black silken sky
Bathing her in whispers of moonlight
As trillions of stars flickering radiantly

~

A shadowy silhouette floats into the moon
She gazes skyward looking for the shadow
A lonely figure circles in the silky sky
Too obscure to see all the details
Except for it’s majestic wings and tail

~

Yet close enough to see the beauty
Of the magnificent hawk soaring
Through the heavens, circling the ivory moon
Her soul soars with the Hawk
Her kindred spirit

~

Together once again sailing on
The cool refreshing summer breeze
Three spirits becoming one
The Hawk, The Moon and The Maiden

This is so pretty - a lovely spiritual poem. The setting is dark and scary, yet the images of moonlight give sight in the dark. The hawk is watching over from heights; the wing is protective, like to take something under your wing. To me this poem is very much about freedom.

added later: The theme in this reminds me a little of the song: "I'll Follow you into the dark."
