Hey Kit,
First off I want to say how much respect I have for people who can write haikus because I can never get it right. I love these haiku's though because they talk about something I secretly enjoy (aside from the bugs) and that is nature. Nature is really a phenomenal thing and it is greatly under-appreciated as well as something that is overlooked and not noticed because of the many other things we conquer in life. I really think you have really captured the essence of nature in this well. Itz almost like looking at a picture of some beautiful scenery and trying to explain it in words...Thanks for the read;

Haikus are best when the meaning is deep with just few words... It's hard I must admit...

Hey King Ace, good to hear from you! I discovered all that in Boy Scouts almost 40 years ago, but it doesn't leave you...that feeling of being out there in the primeval wilderness. Love it. Thanks KayaOtah, I have just returned to the haiku after many years of neglect. It is a noble form we cannot hope to master in this language...but we can put our own stamp on it and presevere.

I enjoyed these Haikus also - just love the nature scene. I wish I had time for Hiking. Fresh air and exercise are so good for the heart, soul, and mind. I've often thought that when the kids are grown, I'd join Sierra club. You know, buy all the back packing equipment and devote my retirement to health and fitness. I want to say fit, so I can out run that spirit death should he start having eyes for me.
