HIS COLORS ~ PUSHKIN SONNET

The painter in a Monet world inspired,
by moon-soaked flesh and curves that speak proclaimed,
his Juliet in brush strokes so desired,
dipped in colors, a passion so renamed

where in his eyes a vision so beautiful
beyond an art his heart paints dutiful.
For his sore eyes was more than recompense,
a heightening of senses circumstance

and as he filled in every curve and shape,
she sat there lithe like swan in graceful poise.
His Juliet in color screamed like noise
so vividly in paint to canvas rape.

He touched her nudity with not one feel.
His colors were a touch closer to real.

Nightlife calls me.
Through her I am free.
It's the only way to be,
all caught up in a mystery!
Born with full moon fever,
I can make you a believer!
For I am the moonchild,
truly born to be wild!

Hi Moonchild, I like to write sonnets and to read other peoples'. The Bard was truly brilliant - and we can all aspire to that, can't we?
I picked up your subtle sexual undertones and think you did a great job with folding them in. Also, phrases like 'moon-soaked skin' speak to me but your couplet is stand-out. Very well done.

Terence
