Default If I were a Poet Sally Roberts Started This Thread
if i were a poet
i'd blend you within
the earliest kisses
of spring,
where lilacs and roses
intwined into love
and dew drops
forever will cling.

if i were a poet
i'd kidnap you
and change all the stars
into verses,
collect your emotions,
with meter and rhyme
and sonnets
my heart
still rehearses.

if i were a poet
Forestdawn
Goddess of the green grove.
Honor the old ones in deed and name
let love and light be our guides again.

Hi Sally,

I'm not usually very effusive when responding but this is a really beautiful write.

There are certainly no if's about you being a poet.

Sally, if you were a poet, I'd lay bunches of roses at your feet...if you were a poet indeed...very funny...but airy and light...great beat.

Wow....this was an amazing read..I swear I'm batting 1000 today.. I truly believe the one who has created this "peace" right here is INDEED a poet..this was such a beautiful ode to poetry, love, and someone special...equivocal and yet direct all in one, yet never losing the softness in your words...this is beautiful

"and change all the stars
into verses,
collect your emotions,
with meter and rhyme
and sonnets
my heart
still rehearses."

Those were my favorite line....I'm in love with this "peace"

Poetic Love to you because love of poetry is in you....
Thanks so much for sharing this piece of art...definitely hanging this one on my heart
"What you DO soeaks so loud that I can not hear what you SAY".......Ralph Waldo Emerson

"If love is such a give and take, when do I gain from all that I give"......LadyLyric

If I were a poet
I'ld send it back
to you in ryhme
but since I'm just

i'll put a message in
a bottle and toss it adrift
