All that I see.
Won't play with toys.
She says no to the boys.
She once was a part of me.
I knew that someday that flower would bloom.
Now I'm counting her steps till graduation in June.
So gone are the days she would be sent to her room.
Baby dolls sit in line, still awaiting tea.
The zoo survived the toy lion in a cage, still can't get free.
Puppets on strings.
I recall a time when Pinocchio lied to us....to me.
All that I can see.
Was her then and now she runs with her friends.
Yes, all day long she runs for miles.
Her and her juvenile baby dolls.
O never mind, I can't get mad though.
Growing up is what I'd hoped for.
Just then, she told me"Daddy I Love You."
As she walked out the door-
I knew then she would always be a part of me.
Leaving me with that lying-ass Pinocchio.

Hey lil' brother,

This is an incredible write....so much love in this...we have had many conversations...yes. The title captured my attention and is most fitting. I absolutely LOVE this, going into my favorites, excellent rating, and made me a little misty. A Daddy's love for their child / children is radiant through out and beckons to be read and heard. You penned this beautifully and flawlessly. Love ya'.

Kim

Spider this is truly beautiful. Sighs they just seem to grow up too fast. It is easier for men because as they age.... they only get more distinguished.... And we women just get old lol. I think I am aging like fine wine.... mellowing ..... becoming oh damn ...inspiration strikes... Thank You

I Thank You for your comment on this write Mysty! LOL!! I love it LOL!! I'm quite sure you're still drop-dead gorgeous Mysty. "I feel you... all down your back and spine" As for me on the other hand... I may well appear to be all tore-up and well taken by wear and tear. Maybe my buddy Zaac can take me around back of the JPIC, to the back 40 and take me out of my melancholy looks!

That's a quote for all ages LOL - I liked this poem - there's some exquisite imagery in this one - And a lot of emotion went into making this piece - It seems like it really:

Yep - a lot of emotion - and some interestingly abstract imagery evolved from the drama so it seems LOL - A very nice write - something I can surely relate to: Getting away from that lying ass ho - better known as wooden nosed bastard Pinocchio

Thanx for the share and the smile.

Jacquii.

This is great Spider Lee. Yeah, I'd like to take that Pinocchio’s head and use it for kindling.
