Lady Kate and Prince Beau
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wrote this poem after a year of walking my dog Kaytee. Everyday we meet up with her "Beau" friend. She is a yellow labrador and he is a black labrador. They simply love each other and whine the whole walk if one of them is missing that day. Hope you enjoy.
Lady Kate and Prince Beau
Lady Kate prepares herself to leave her humble abode.
She becomes impatient as she quickly walks down the road.
If she hurries she might see handsome Prince Beau today.
She stops by his castle, hoping he will be walking her way.
Her eye lids flutter and she emits a deep sigh.
He is walking toward her with such joy in his eyes.
She leaps for joy as they run happily toward each other to greet
They embrace in a wondrous dance each time they meet.
His chain mail is black with a wonderful red trim
And she, dressed in her yellow gown, is ready to walk with him.
They walk together up hill and down
And run with excitement to hold the things they have found.
The stream may be high or it may be low
But each time they see it, in together they go.
She goes in the stream to drink, and he to swim
Life is so beautiful for both of them.
The sun is going down it is time to go home.
And now I must tell you the truth of this poem.
As our lady and prince depart for the day
They touch noses, and commence their “rough house play”.
They lick each others faces! You see that is the way they talk because
They are two very loved dogs out for their walk.
