Default The Lake Opera Checkmate Started This Thread
sitting on the edge of the ancient lake...

night's outstretched claws grasp the golden orb,

pulling it downward past the horizon...

coldness sets in as the remaining warmth steams off the water...

the great abyss above,

vast in its magnitude,

becomes a pin cushion for the angels

as they lay out patterns overhead...

greek gods...

signs of the zodiac...

creatures of old...

sister moon,

rising to her perch,

bringing life to the surrounding shoreline...

insects and amphibians,

sing their chorus in unison,

providing the opening score of the evenings opera...

pale shadows dance upon the rippling waves,

choreographed by the breeze,

swaying to and fro,

until dawn breaks free,

regaining its rule of the heavens above...
