Oh little house mouse, you’re so cute,
I wish I could catch you in a trap.
I feel sorry for you little furry self,
head trapped under the metal spring.
But, your feces on the kitchen counter,
in the cupboards and towel drawer,
are annoying, cause me twice the work,
cleaning all the dishes twice.
You seem to know the kitchen well,
all the in and outs of cooking.
You studied my utensil drawer,
and last night you gave me a fright,
as you scampered across the kitchen floor.
I saw you in the light of day
as you scurried cross the counter,
so fast you lost traction on the curve,
went sideways into the cookie jar
then quickly into the stove burner.
I’ll admit I had to laugh a bit,
to see you in such frenzy.
I wish I could be kind to you,
but you’re just too unsanitary.
So, I’ll set another trap with cheese,
and hope you take the bait, and
crush your little mousy neck
upon the wooden block.

Bear and Jims Inn,
Thank you for taking time to read and comments. The little guy is actually causing a so much mess. He won't take the cheese either. He must be smarter than most house mice. I do think he is cute and funny, but he just can't stay. I think I'll revise this for a smoother read, I kind of jotted it down quickly.
