Mr. Bad News

He’s a bad news bear for breakfast,
eats your "cheerios" up for lunch.
If you take him out for dinner,
all he ever does is punch.

He’s expert at spreading rumors,
tells you everything is bad.
He whispers about the neighbor,
"Oh, his kids are all so sad!"

You point out a pretty lady,
you say "her hair it looks so nice,"
he’s got to say some nasty thing,
"Don´t you know, that she has lice?

He will list you all the bad news,
tells you his dog just bit the dust,
how his wife slept with the postman,
how there’s no one you can trust".

You tell him that he has some hope
you say "look it’s a beautiful day."
He tells you "but it’s way too hot!",
that he has no time to play.

Of course, he reads all the papers,
tells you how so and so just died,
informs you about the plane crash,
"Imagine; how everyone was fried!"

He complains that he’s not working.
you inform him about a job.
He says "No, I wouldn’t want it",
how the boss is such a slob.

Always gets up on the bad side,
every damn morning, noon and night.
He tells you he’s got nobody,
how nobody treats him right.

He brags to you, that he’s "bankrupt."
You answer -- "Well, that is so true!",
"It´s nothing ‘bout the bill’s you owe,
it’s everything about you"

You shove him in to a corner,
your forehead veins about to pop,
put your hands ‘round his neck and scream;
"Are you ever gonna stop?!"

So, alright, Okay,

Don't know if this is cheating but I brought this back up to the top, so perhaps someone might respond.

Wow George ....... I am sorry I didn't get to this sooner....... eeeps how did you last so many stanzas without strangling Mr. Pessimist? You did a wonderful job of rhyming..... I quite enjoyed this read. Thank you .... it sure looks different seeing how others view things. Thank goodness I am not a pessimist Thanks for a very interesting read.

A fun read, George. I sometimes associate with those pessimistic feelings, but not to that extent. Nice rhyme, good flow ... good read, thanks for sharing.

G'day reasonrhymer...
It sounds like you've been spending time with country music singers (ha! ha!) Most of us have been there...you may have written an anthem!
