[Terence]

The new arrival, glowing softly bright,
is welcomed with a joyous revelry.
She melts the heart with her subdued sunlight
that shines with innocence and mystery.

And as the days grow long this young child grows
pubescence heralds sweet fertility
as nature in its boundless course bestows
upon this girl a breathtaking beauty.

When sun and rain do woo this winsome lass,
with warmth of motherhood then she is blest.
But even though the days do slowly pass
‘tis all too soon the fledglings leave their nest.

Dark skies descend to change this scenery;
a cool wind blows in cruelly from the west
yet she is dressed in her full finery
to grace each day with beauty unsurpassed.

But then there comes that hour of dwindling light.
Her body succumbs to the cold and chills
and, with the hedgerows turned to crystal white,
she slumbers with the bears and daffodils.

a soft devotional write to the beauty of life.....
a cycle that God Himself has blessed us with...
if only more would realize the wonderful priveledge in this responsibility...

I too am a nature lover, Mother Nature has the best poetry influences I've ever had.

Hi Terence...saturation is the name of the game here, I believe...lol!

I really loved this poem...so beautiful ...but a little sad at the end...the path of a newborn's life through early womanhood, then on the the fall of her life and it's winter...it really sums up our lives in five short stanzas...how quickly we pass from the earth.
