In the days before the poet was born
I was everywhere but not within
My switchblade hiding in my boots so worn
My mind was hellish bent on mortal sin
~
I was everywhere but not within
Running with the wolves seemed the thing to do
My mind was hellish bent on mortal sin
Youngish rebels with fertile fields to sow
~
Running with the wolves seemed the thing to do
In all the endless summer nights we raved
Youngish rebels with fertile fields to sow
I sought but never found the thing I craved
~
In all the endless summer nights we raved
My switchblade hiding in the boots so worn
I sought but never found the thing I craved
In the days before the poet was born

Thank you Mysty, but I am quite taken aback by the fact that you inadvertantly called me by the wrong name and it just happens to be the name of one of those rebels I hung out with. One of those who never returned to the real world...I have never shared some of the more caustic poems about those days and leave the names out when I do.

taking seeds of strength from fights

the strength to believe in themselves.

I loved Rebel Without a Pen!

A perfect and flawless pantoum!

WOW!! How shall I describe it? Well I believe it would be a masterpiece!
In the days before the poet was born my favorite line. You mastered the words within the heart of the reader, and wrote it with excellence!

I LOVED it!

You are forgiven...but I still find it very twilight zonish that the particular name Ron came into play in a comment about this...actually blows me away, since I gave up believing in coincidence long ago.
