Hmmm - I'm chatting with ERIK right now and we're talking about snow poems... I wrote this poem quite some time ago and it's quite...................lacking.... ---- But it is a snow poem - so I think to share with YAWL because I know some parts of the US are getting snow this morning. I sooooo would like to have snow....

Jacquii.

Tennessee
(first…snow)

I am simply
of a time
when Winter is forever sublime,
where there’s never
better, Tennessee layered, laid back chillin’
in a white gown.

Oh how I adore Her mountains –
adorned in pearls
of alabaster bourgeoisie,
shrouded in a veil of purity,
a beauty like none other: antiquated annuity.

Oh, the oak wearing cream lace
is a stunning reverie
to behold; there
is the back-alley edifice draped
in Mother Nature’s
cameo pendant of onyx and gold
whose essence is told
as Old Man Winter unfolds
the mystery of his first
snow.

Oh, Tennessee;
sweet Tennessee remain bold,
remain Golden-Gate-Bridge-orange,
stay ivory pure,
secure in your white;
remain constant – upright
volunteer. Stay.

My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

msj this part seemed the most free flowing,
I also love it whenever purity is mentioned, however you emntioned it too many times I think,

getting down to this poem I see as what most people see,
ability, you know you can put together parts like we do today, but
instead we focus on rhyme too much or what people can relate to,
it was very fun poem to read though an still very creative

Dear Ms Jacquii,

Oh how I needed to read this today. This poem is as beautiful as the hexagonal prisms themselves made by Mother Nature. The dendritic patterns are infinite as is the meaning of this poem. Your poem is food for the soul and mind and this is no less a free flowing testimony of how beautiful you see the snow and how beautiful you make us see snow from your perspective. Thank you for this Ms Jacquii...outstanding in wordsmithing and execution. An excellent rating and going in my favorites.

Kim

WOW Ms Jacquii

A picture post card poem. Tennessee must be so beautiful!

Here in Oregon it is just as lovely. I live in an area where I am surrounded by mountains and the snow covered evergreens are spactacular! All I have to do is look out of any window of my house and see a mountain covered in a white blanket.

Thanks for sharing Your poem was great!!

Blessings

Thanx YAWL so much for commenting - I do think there are parts of this poem that are really nice ((other parts are kinda ugh)) but I thank you for taking the time to see the nice parts

Jacquii.

@ SALLY - Yeah - TENNESSEE is really beautiful country.
I do so hope it will snow this winter, but it's like 66 high yesterday... AND raining...
But perhaps it'll cool a lil enough for 1st snow.

I can see nothing lacking in this work, MsJ. For me, you've put down in word what my eyes can easily see all around me...love it!
