Jeez! That was some Pine tree you wrote about! Not sure I would call it Haiku, though! Certainly not traditional haiku, but haiku comes in many different shapes and sizes and some even do rhyme but this, I think is more Senryu. I've never done one of these before so I have no idea of what I just did, or didn't do, lol. My inspiration was mainly picking something that was easiest to try this with. Holding my breath.....smile.

well AMACHRISTIAN - haiku come in many different flavors - but mostly the structure is focused on the syllable-count. (5-7-5 per stanza/line is usually the norm) More info found at the following link: http://jpicforum.info/showthread.php?t=698

hehe - but I like your haiku - I don't know if it can fall into the category of "traditional" haiku - but the content is nice - original piece - now wonder who else has found the bells

Thank you very much for the information. I was never quite sure how people did these and still not sure if I'm going to really get it or not but I'll go read more about it and see what I can come up with afterward.

I'm wondering, is there also a style for the writing itself once the syllables are correct? Many I've read seem to leave just enough thought to cause one to read between the lines instead of writing a complete thought. Not sure if I did this exactly right although I think I got the syllables right this time.
