“Chasing The Other Side Of Midnight”

Looking in, inside myself

For ways

To escape from within

~

What troubles me?

No one knows

No one really knows

But me

~

Wanting to get out

Unable to squeeze out

~

My soul’s desire

Patiently waits

For my eyes to close

~

Motionless

My mind runs

Wild

Wildly in color

Chasing shadows

Of rainbow colors

Into the darkness

Of the midnight hour

~

Our souls

Meet

Like they do

All other times

Under

Every full moon

~

Lying down

Next to you

On a bed of

Roses

~

Your scent

Equally matches

Each

One

~

Making love to you

Our souls

Fade away

Like steam

Rising into the sky

~

My eyes reawaken

Looking into

The mirror

Seeing your reflection

Shine light

On the darkness

Of

The other side

Of midnight

Unfolding light onto darkness
Warmth embraces

The sunsets
Showing us

This is beautifully dark Art.
I can really relate to the beginning and the end
is just gorgeous, the images I mean.
This is a fav by you.
I truly enjoyed and absolutely love it!
Excellent job!

Nightlife calls me.
Through her I am free.
It's the only way to be,
all caught up in a mystery!
Born with full moon fever,
I can make you a believer!
For I am the moonchild,
truly born to be wild!

very soft subtle and simple...smooth and poignant, a snapshot in motion, or in the words of Amzy..."a verb on pause" i like this a lot.

This poem started out with me worrying about your thoughts but then I began to see me in the poem and delighted in its description. Most of us feel and react as you do especially when we see anothers reflection shine light on the darkness of the other side of midnight. This is a beautifully touching poem that everyone can relate to. Thank you for sharing this with us that feel just like you.
Sincerely,
tamm0449

"Chasing shadows

Of rainbow colors

Into the darkness

Of the midnight hour"

Lyrical. Sing-songy, but not in any way simple--well, not in the conventional sense. By which do not suggest it is any less wonderful.

Bewitching. spellbinding. The distant, starlit sense of longing pulled me through the poem like a gentle midnight breeze over a crescent moon.

Poetry is not always about words, it hardly ever is actually. Poetry is about emotion and the transference of emotion. For awhile their, I was feeling your feelings and getting to know them--So I guess, in a way, I know you now--somewhat at least.

Malekelm, Nice to meet you, and hope to read from you some more friend.
