Trembling with fear, Ayla clung to the tall man beside her as she watched the strangers approach. Jondalar put his arm around her protectively, but still she shook.

This is a story about something that happened long ago when your grandfrather was a child. It is a very important story because it shows how all the comings and goings between our own world and the land of Narnia first began.

When Mary Lennox was sent to Misselthwaite Manor to live with her uncle everybody said she was the most disagreeable-looking child ever seen. It was true, too. She had a thin face and a little thin body, thin hair and sour expression.

It was a warm summer evening in the sleepy little town of Tuscumbia, Alabama. A light breeze rustled through the ivy leaves and brought the fragrance of roses into the living room of the vine-covered Keller house.

OOOOOooooooooooooops!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps I didn't explain this one well enough... You're supposed to right YOUR 1st line as if YOU are the Author. Like in my example:

The Following Text Is Quoted:
Cameroon instantly started running for her life; she just didn't know it was her life that was chasing her.
Shades of Tomorrow
I wrote the 1st line --- And I named the ficticious book...

I will edit the 1st post of this thread

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

LOL - no problem MS SALLY - I simply edited the 1st post so it explains the thread a little better - And you weren't the only one to write other novels' first lines - so not to worry

JAcquii.

In fact - I think naming the 1st lines of OTHER novels is a brilliant idea - You should post the thread if you like
