Colors come with feelings attached to them, yet not everyone feels the same way about the same color. This is because we all have certain images that we attach to colors.

This game is easy to play! Just pick a color - any color - and tell us what image YOU attach to it and how it makes you feel.

For example:

Blue - I envision the sky and feel free as a bird.

or

Blue - I see the sea and feel sad, thinking of salty tears.

I think it will be interesting to compare the different images and feelings of the different (or even the same) colors.

My colors are the Purples....Royal Purple, Lavender, Red Violet.

Soothing and positive. The energy color of the crown chakra.

Amethyst is also my birthstone

I find it interesting that the different shades can evoke different emotions as well. When I read Sally's reply with the word purple - I felt bad because the first thing I thought of was bruises. Then I saw Violet and immediately associated that with a field of flowers and felt free and happy.

Okay, who will be next? Pick a color, any colour!

My colors are all the Colors Of The Visible Light Spectrum.

The Visible Light Spectrum constitutes a small portion of the Electromagnetic Spectrum. The part that we can see. Broken down and bent through a prismatic medium, all the colors of the rainbow, and all blends in between become visible.

Red, Orange Yellow, Green Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Just like the colors of the rainbow in that order, then all the blends.

When the photons jump from an excited state then back, a certain amount of energy is released. That energy comes with a particular frequency of a wavelength in nanometers. That measurable amount is a specific color.

That is beautiful......The Physics of Color.
