Rain Cometh

SShh! Can you hear? Rain.
Her raindrops are like kisses,
Smiles the Desert Sand.

Whisper

I can feel your breath.
Come closer, speak slower- now,
I hear your Whispers.

Wow! Great writes YAWL - I was just thinking about magnolia and honeysuckle - two of the sweetest smells in all of Tennessee:

Tennessee Corsage

honeysuckle blooms
fair magnolia sways: suddenly
the two united

Anyway - middle line is 8 syllables...
Just thought I'd give it a try

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

Fleeting, quivering thing
alights upon my finger
And then quickly pasts

I give out my heart
And you move to go take it
And tear it in half
"To the world you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world"

Snow melting away,
breaking up of river ice,
spring begins to sing.
