no its not a few chapters...you just happened to get volume one. and if you have an 11 year old girl and you're ok with her finding that, its a sad commentary on any shred of morals whatsoever. thats scary

Um - you're all off topic ZAAC - And I think one thing every Member can agree upon is that we don't necessarily want to hear you preach about morals or lack-there-of --- Perhaps you can read some of the eloquent statements that have been made in this discussion and then comment

Jacquii.

ps - This is probably gonna get a ((GASP)) - but when is it OK for a girl (or boy) to hear the word Dick, etcetera? When we hear them say it - and pretend that they would never ever hear/or/say such a thing? LOL --- And then we act astonished because our little boy has said pussy...?

At some point - don't you think it becomes our responsibility as an adult to address the use of ugly little words and to sit down and honestly conversate on the ugly little things that sometimes is more prevalent in society than we'd want them to be... Or shall we always have our little girls and little boys live in an uneducated and un-savvy state of ignorance? Sometimes I think we have to shed the faux-shield of "well I'm just trying to keep my child safe" and realize that we too have perpetuated the hypocrisy that is "dirty little secret"

his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

I think that lots of times just the concept of sex in itself can be confusing... I was in an Ethics course where our last and my most favorite topic dealt with sex. What do we call sex? (is it oral, is it just kissing, or is it other forms? Or, is sex just intercourse between two people? And, for that matter, it being defined as just intercourse is an interesting concept to debate as well). And what isn't defined as sex?

This could maybe help with understanding what is Erotic and what is Pornographic. Or, at least, it couldn't help but to ponder this question. (I loved debating this in my class, everyone's opinions were so different and it was just very interesting).

For me my writing of Erotica reflects my own morals most of the time. I always have those who are doing the acts be together and know each other. And, not only know each other, but have their having sex be an expression of love and trust between the couple. I would never let anyone do anything to my own body or to me unless if I trusted them and loved them as well. But, that's just me and how I feel with it.

I have been reading an Erotica book occasionally (when I wanna spice up my night) called "Delta of Venus" by Anais Nin. This deals with a whole variety of different stories touching on different topics, and in my opinion it is kind of "hardcore." It goes quite into details with things and is definitely quite different than what I thought Erotica to be... it's the first published, in print Erotica book that I've read. Though, I've read a lot of Erotica online and dabbled with writing it myself too.

I just love the topic of sex and especially love that interesting question of what is sex? And that being defined by what someone's opinion of sex is for them, because it really does vary. For me I have a clear idea of what Pornography is with a visual media and like a sex scene within a movie is different.

Maybe that's my way to explain the difference for me... Pornography is like that Pornographic movie where two (or more people) are suddenly having sex and you don't know quite way except the man came in for the cable and is suddenly having sex with this woman. Erotica is like that sex scene within a movie, you get a backstory, you care for the characters, and there's more to it. Well, at least, that's my opinion at least or the conclusion that I've drawn.

I know I went a little off topic but I get quite excited when I talk about sex... it's just so damn interesting and fun!

LOL - nice comment SARAH - I do think it's all about "interpretation" - For instance some may think Anais Nin is pornographic - no doubt when Nin's writing was introduced into mainstream literature it was considered saucy to say the least. Most interesting about Nin is that she was one of the 1st WOMEN to write erotica - some steamy stuff - even the title you mention sounds more than risque enough to garner my attention (may look it up on Amazon.com a little later lol) --- Some like it hot

Anyway - did a bit of reading on Nin over at wikipedia and found an interesting quote: We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are. Makes me say "hmmmm"

Yes, there's sex after marriage (I heard an unconfirmed rumor that's where babies come from) but that's not really what keeps a marriage together after the first glow is over. It's, for us, the fact that we really like each other (we DO! I think, lol). There's so many undefinable reasons why marriages work (short one and long ones (get your mind outta the gutter I was talking about short and long marriages)) but after the romance has worn off and the babies, bills, pets and all kinds of obstacles come along that union between two people who have weathered all the above, to me, is not sex, it's the initial love expressed in a different way.

Sex, yeah, maybe sexcapades might be fun, but after the role playing is finished, the love is still there.

Erik's right. So is MsJ. I think your question has been answered many times, in many ways. I don't think anything we say will make a difference.

My Lovely Gail,

Think About It...

Sex Is Sex...Before Or After Marriage
So Is Love...
So Is Emotion...
Etc. Etc.

All I Would Like To Say From My End Is That I Agree With Each And Every One Of You Because That Is What Civilized And Cultured Is All About.

But That Is Not The Way It Was Meant To Be...Putting Beautiful Words Dosen't Change The Essence Of The State.

Please Understand That I Did Not Create This Essence. We All Have It But Too Shy Or too Conscious To Bring It Out And That Goes For Me Too.

This World Has Become Such A Sad Place Thanks To The So Called Evolution Of The Mind Set Of Man Kind.
