Icon8 Porn Vs. Erotica : A Debate booobooo Started This Thread
There Is A Very Very Thin Line Between Erotica And Porn.

For me Nothing Is Porn. Porn Is Erotica And Erotica Is Porn. Have A Look At Books On Kamasutra. They Are All Sculptures Sculpted On Temples In India In A Place Called Khajurao. What Would You Call Them...Erotica Or Porn.

I Have Opened This Thread To See How You All React To This Issue. Please feel Free To Converse On This Subject.
Do meet me there, where light is realm, Where pain and suffering meet their end,
Where death and grave are out of bound, Where joy and comfort, always found.

I mostly agree that porn and erotica are similar, more alike than different actually. The difference though would be more of a personal type distinction. For me - porn is a little less classy than erotica would be; Porn is more explicit in it's detail, while erotica is less explicit and possibly borders on a bit of innuendo, rather than putting the truth all out there in it's glory.

I like both - There's a season for porn and a season for erotica so to say - And each has its place. I think the kamasutra though is more of a sensual and erotic thing to be enjoyed by two lovers. The kamasutra is a teaching mechanism of sorts - where the ideal is to bring about pleasure. Pornography, on the other hand, is all about the orgasm, pleasure is not at the forefront...

My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

I agree with msj

actually I have to say there is a clear and defantate line between both,
when I see erotica it about toned down senusality,
although I prefer romantiscism, the erotica I've read,

typically porn has no limit sto content and shock value whilst erotics tends
to use tact

the simple diffrence porn is no limits sex erotica is artistic sex,

however one can say that erotica is just softcore porn,
which I wouldn't argue , but theirs a key difference between
loving a partner romantically, or loving your sexuality,

erotica tends the love of the thought of sexuality

Hmmm - I'm chattin with ERIK and we started talking about this thread lol - But he said a very interesting thing that I think really defines the porn v. erotica debate... Friendly debate that it is --- But he said the difference is distinct.

Why do you think we would allow our children to see DaVinci's nude sculpture and then not allow them to see Jenna Jamison "porking a platoon of soldiers"? or some such he said. But I think it's a wonderful analogy as the debate is now "artistic" v. "raunchy" --- Thus is the distinction between porn & erotica so to say.

I happen to agree with Ms Jacquii and Erik... for me Erotica is all about the sensual tempting..... not the graphic picture of porn. For instance if you look at some of my past sensual poetry...... I think most will agree it is not porn ... enough said...for me lol

I agree with what has been posted. I want to read something that arouses the artistic sensuality of my imagination and senses, rather than read a graphic description. Mysty's erotic poems leave the audience wanting more and allows the imagination to take over. My Saxophone Love Series, I believe accomplishes that as well.

the way i look at it, if you have to resort to pulling out the porn vs erotica argument, you're probably trying to justify something that is in poor taste. sorry to be such an ass about it, but it's not appropriate. although it may be your right to expression, it does not give you the right to potentially damage my child should she come on here and see something like that inadvertently...and yes i keep a close eye on what my child does online. she is way to young to come here, but she is also extremely intelligent and she is not always watched as closely as she is with me. maybe there should be a forum just for that kind of stuff...its not exactly literature. by the way, porn is defined as graphic depictions of sexual acts...i think you hit that one in spades.

hey zaac you know i don't think you were being an ass about it in this instance,
you are right to monitor your child too, and I still feel bad about that one day online when we were all talking to loose-tongued,

I defeantely agree with you that your child shouldn't be exposed to either one of those evils, I abhore erotica

Well ZAAC - you do have a healthy track record of being an ass when it comes to asserting your opinion. Sorta like me --- The thing is - we're not discussing the content of the stories posted. I've made a decision when JPiC was 1st began that we shall hold tight to our non-censorship policy. You don't like it - Don't read it.

If it has the potential to offend - perhaps you can find a better online Community to meet your needs. You didn't have to be all ugly about the content in the Chatbox either. And by no means is JPiC a babysitter for your 6-year old child. So that should be a moot point.

At anyrate - this thread clearly states "porn vs. erotica" - It doesn't state "Zaac please insert your audacity here." - so if you have nothing else to add to the thread topic - kindly keep your hands off the keyboard

Now back on point... There are some who indeed like the "harder" stuff... I do, though I did think that some of the recent story threads were very graphic and bordering on indecent LOL - But ask yourself - how many times have you used those same words. I think we are mostly all adult here. And when you be truthful with yourself - there are probably not a single word that has been used in BOOOBOOO's story posts that you yourself haven't used time again and again and again. So perhaps we can stop with the hypocracy as well.

Jacquii.
