Poetry is an ultimate expression, an eternal smile. You can never know someone better after talking to them for years, than reading one of their poems.
In my opinion, poetry should uplift or encapsulate beauty. The best thing for an artist's marketability is to die. The best thing for a poets marketability is to rebel. A squeaky clean poet is like an honest politician: They may be speaking the truth, but who wants to hear it.
