I just recently stumbled upon this forum and thought I'd give it a whirl. I was just browsing other forums and clicked on a link and this place kicked me in the teeth and told me I had to stay or else! ... ok, no one kicked me in the teeth ... but I stumbled in here and browsed a bit and decided it might be a nice place to hang out ... at least until someone runs me off

Anyway, I've been rather poetical since I was a kid. Rhymes, good or bad, are my forte. I'll try and stick with just the good stuff while I'm here though.

... so ... where do they keep the brownies and coffee? ... crackers and wine? ... you do serve refreshments, don't you? I really have to keep up my matronly figure ...

Hi Beth,
It's nice to meet you. We are all pretty friendly here. Nobody gets mad at anyone - at least not that I've seen. We have poets with all different styles, so post whatever makes you happy. We have beginners thru published poets a few as young as 15 years and then there's us older folks. Most of the poets don't post in critique. We look for the best in each; the atmosphere is casual. Hello Beth and to JPIC .... You will find this place is like your own little piece of heaven in a world too often filled with disappointments. We are all very friendly here and too soon we will become like extended family. At least that is how I have come to think of several of the people here.

I had never been to a forum like this before .. one that truly encourages and doesn't try to tear ones words down and apart. As you can tell I have been on other poetry forums and often bore the brunt of being torn apart. I do not believe in the word Cliche' because so someone else used that word... the way one uses it is fresh and new to them. I think that maybe real poet critiquers have just become so jaded in trying to fathom the meaning of all they read. So.... Me? I just read to enjoy now. Because Poetry is meant to be enjoyed.

I do offer some ideas now and then if I find a piece can possibly use it but never harshly.... I term them as use or lose because ultimately a Poem is a person thing to the writer and to the reader as well.

LoL now that you have read my novella length welcome .... please know I am pleased to You to the best Forum online.

I'm a tough old broad and can take a lot of criticism, but sometimes it's nice to have a place you can "let your hair down" and just write from the heart ... and I read your novella length welcome with humility .... that I should be so worthy ... thank-you.
