Greetings fellow writers,

I'm SuzyQ, lover of poetry. Poetry is a big part of my leisure time. I read it, write it, and at times (silly as it seems) I find myself speaking in perfect iambics.

I write mostly for enjoyment but also for the purpose of appeasing an ever-restless mind. I find the more I open my mind's eye to life and possibilites, the more inspiration I find for creating my poems. I love trying out new poetry styles.

Some of my favorite poets are Dr. Suess, Robert Frost, Henry Wadworth Longfellow, and Maya Angelou. There are many more, too.

Some of my other loves, besides poetry, are of course my husband and daughter. I also love camping in the high desert and mountains, near where we live. If I can lose myself in nature, peace finds me and I'm most rewarded. I'm a fair-weather person though, thriving in summer and withering in winter. Lucky for me, it's almost summer and I'm about to become human again.

I hope it won't be too long before I learn how to navigate this site, then I'll start posting.

I love this! I'm a bit of a nature girl myself - I suppose in Tennessee, you'd have to be, because there's so much country to love. Anyway - great intro! I say again = Welcome to the community. I look forward to reading your poetry!

We have quite a friendly little, laidback community here - so do let us know if you have any issue navigating the site = Someone will be happy to assist

Jacquii.

Welcome Suzy Q. Happy to have you on board. WE have many fabulous poets around these parts Please take a few minutes to go over the JPic posting policy (The topmost link "Forum Menu" then "JPic Forum Policies") as well and yes, get familiar with the site. It's not difficult... just takes some getting used to

Happy reading and posting!

SuzyQ to JPiC!! What a great intro!! Yes, what lies beyond the mind's eye often times extracts from our subconscious, and the results are endless!! I too love nature and find that nature is my muse these days. We do have a myriad of talent on JPiC, and something for everyone's palette.

I look forward to reading you and should you need assistance please let us know. Thank you for joining our writing community SuzyQ.

Thank you ALL for the nice welcome.

I've been enjoying the exploration of the site the past few days. (though at the rate it takes for pages to load, this could take some time. Seems like it takes longer than the average page... not sure why... almost feels like dial-up again choke.. cough... hiss but not quite) I'm totally enjoying all of the quotes sprinkled throughout. Today I spent some time looking around at the "Creativity Outlet". Was enjoying reading through some the challenges. Even thought it looks as though there hasn't been any activity for some time, I think I might find it useful and inspiring when I need an idea. In any case... glad to be here.

hmmm - I know the site is a bit graphics heavy, but pageload shouldn't be too terribly long, especially when/if your browser loads images from cache. I never notice, as my internet speed is blazing lol but "dial-up"?!? Seriously? What browser are you using to surf the site?

Okay... so I might have been exaggerating a bit. No, it's not quite as bad as dial-up.
Now's the time (already?) I have to expose my lack of intelligence about computer stuff. Damn it! Branded again! haha
Oh well, might as well come clean.... I'm computer illiterate... very.

I'm not sure what a browser is. Is it Internet Explorer? Is it Google? Those are the two names I can see at the top of the screen.

OMG it's hard to admit I'm me sometimes.

You're not computer illiterate - you've at least managed to comment posts, as well as post your own poetry without issue. Some people can't even do that LOL - So kudos to ya

As for browsers... JPiC is optimized for viewing in Opera, Google Chrome, Firefox and/or Apple Safari. Internet Explorer just has issues parsing css and html code and I've decided to not worry about any "JPiC via IE" compatibility issues -- I'd actually recommend you download and use any of the browsers I've linked to above. You'll have a better browsing experience...

What a remarkable improvement on speed!! I actually had Google Chrome on my computer but have never used it. So I opened up this website with it and BAM! the pages are loading normally. Thanks! I'll be much happier now.

GREAT!

I was just thinking about this actually. I opened a status report from one of JPiC monitors and the average pageload was 12 seconds for the week = not too shabby, considering the bulk of images on pageload. Anyway - I'm glad Chrome loads quicker for you

Internet Explorer is so obsolete a dinosaur really - I hope Microsoft will ditch it and start loading Opera or Firefox or Chrome with all new PCs! I don't see it happening - but can always wish and hope LOL
