i'm MJ.. i don't like using caps!!!! this will most likely bother some people, so get over it now! i am not an e.e. cummings wannabe, i just loathe the shift button.

i try to be a kind person. i'll probably get along with you, unless you're a litterbug. i work with kids because they love me and i can't help it. i'm a closet bookworm because for some reason people think it's lame to read books. fuck that! i like girls, especially girls who speak in sexual innuendo, and who know what innuendo means. i'm obsessed with live music and i'd travel anywhere to see it. i live with the grateful dead, the beatles, and donovan constantly on the record player and on my mind. i hug trees- yes we actually exist. some people might say i pick up garbage on the street and put it in the trash can. i work with babies all day. i stimulate their little brains and hearts with music, photos, colors, words, and dreams. my co-workers are weird and it's hilarious. they all tell me secrets and i never tell anyone. i live with my girlfriend and our two new kittens who are way better than your kittens. they are named clover and echo, and don't say you don't love them already. i eat food and go to sleep at night and sometimes during the day. i turned a wooden beam in my apartment into a tree last night. it looks great but i still want a real tree in here. i'm all about a sweet road trip. i love to write all the time, sometimes short stories, mostly fiction. i wrote my first poem (rings and roses, to be posted here shortly) after the death of a friend's mother, and since then i have been exploring poetry in my mind. i have a few decent items, and most are very amateur, but it feels good to do it, and calms my soul. i am looking for straightforward critique, awkward conversations, and honest reviews. i am open minded about nearly everything, and i don't get offended easily. i'll apologize in advance for the critiques i give, because i haven't learned everything about poetry yet! i am picking up a little bit each day. anyway, so i hope to feel welcome here, and find a nice home for my poems. see you around!

HA! I hug trees too! Welcome MJ to the JPiC Community - You sound like the interesting kind no doubt - I was actually looking for "rings and roses" -- didn't see it posted - hopefully you will post it...

At anyrate - We do have quite a melange of talent on JPiC - most show their talent through their poetry, but we have quite a nice collection of shortstories and novel exerpts as well - So it's nice to welcome you to the Forum, especially being a fellow tree hugger!
