ANOTHER MISSED OPPORTUNITY

It takes ages to acquire
the wisdom
of a lifetime
learning the magical twists
that can take one into a bright future;

by the application
of common sense
and imagination
one is enabled
to have the time of ones life.

But it’s too late ....

Always too late damn it LOL - Or possibly the cliche: better late than never. Perhaps next time I grab the bull by the horns and topple him so the crowd cheers with triumphant applause... But - o well - this time, seems the matador is one with the red cloth?.... And they both caress the dirt?

Anyway - Hi ALAN - Your poem speaks very clearly on the blues of "only-ifs" and "perhaps-maybe-next-times" As the Queen of Procrastination - I smile a silent lament... Knowledge... Kinsmanship...

I liked this poem, as you're voice tends to have a stubborn edge to it as well. ALSO interesting "challenge words"

Interesting piece - I enjoyed this one

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

Dear Jacquii,

Thank you very much. You are far to young to need to procrastinate ! Glad you like my latest ramblings, I tend to write a lot, and I LOVE vhallenges for forcing me in directions I would not normally even have nightmares about.

Love
Alan

Dear Amzy,

I'm a recent member of aanpt thread, which puts up several challenges a day, but also has a LOT of traffic that hardly interests me.

Glad you like. Feel free to use the words here.

Love
Alan

Ah yes, why must youth be wasted on the young!
You've met that challenge in fine style, Alan. I especially liked the emphasis on "application". Common sense - So many claim to have it, So few actually USE it! Can't wait for your next post, I'll be watching for it!
