I wake up at night staring in the darkness in fright
Feet drawing closer - getting louder!
Then - no footsteps can be heard!
I peak out and look about the room
Only to see a ghostly old lady at the foot of my bed
I lay on my back with the covers over my head
For my room is filled not with the living, but the dead!

Very nice L. W.. I LOVE this particular genre. It is my favorite. One can have so much fun in creating, and just letting the imagination run wild. This was wonderful, for I could picture the image of the person, tight in a ball like position, and literally peeking! I LOVED IT!!!!!

this very interesting because I have had numerous experiences such as this but what was coming close to me wasn't an old lady...This brings back horrible memories but i'm stable enough to be able to pt them out, very nice poem and itz short and sweet which is sometimes rare with poetry unless itz a haiku
