Hold Me

Most people would agree
It feels nice to be held tight
Take away my misery
And hold me through the night

You will keep me from falling
And hold my head up high
I am at peace in your holding
So I am willingly confined

My first was juvenile
The others not so strong
Be with me a short while
Wrapped in you I do no wrong

Wrapped up in you I hover
Ten inches off the ground
When will we be discovered
I’m certain we'll be found

I am your reason for being
And in you I take some pride
When I look at you I'm seeing
The best noose I’ve ever tied

Dear Amzy,
I read this a few times; even the title. The title first captured my attention. I thought, based on the title, what I was about to read, may not really be. I should let my mind be open to changing roads, so to speak. This is some "Experimental Imagery" Amzy! Read like a love poem, then the following stanza made me freeze, and I read this stanza alone, several times. The "experimental imagery" is profound, I am almost speechless.....>

Wrapped up in you I hover
Ten inches off the ground
When will we be discovered
I’m sure we will be found

but the last line, oh that last line is gruesome, and scary--->

The best noose I’ve ever tied

After reading that, I went to read your poem a couple of my times. I thought of someone hanging themselves, I thought of someone describing a relationship, I thought of an addict tying a hose around their bicept, and perhaps describing "their" eurphoria. What I thought is indeed "Experimental Imagery"!!! Bravo!!!, for you made me so interested, as to try to figure out the meaning, (and their could be more than one), that I began to interact with your words, I was swooped in your poem, I was involved with your poem. To have that talent my friend is pure genious. This is some poem. What talent to behold. Words are power, as my friend michael says, and this poem is powerful!! WoW Amzy!!!!!! Conceptually speaking of this piece, I felt sad. To "imagine", (if I choose to think of the poem as someone gratifying in hanging themselves), someone equating this serious act as something euphoric, was sad, the act alone is sad, to visualize this, was sad. I was extremely "MOVED", by this piece Amzy.

Yeah I have to say at the very least the ending is surprising, an intricate poignant poem with tons of shock value really great
