First or Last Breath
Masquerade
in Black and White
Black for Death
and White for Life.
When you come to see what has started
Do not with either color be parted;
For tonight to remain a living being
Both Black and White you should be seeing.
Ravens soar about in this grand old hall
Doves above cooing, enjoying the Ball.
They know what they are and they know why they’re here,
As they circle above their meaning is clear.
So if one should come to you cloaked and Black Masqued
Do not take his hand, for your Death he shall ask.
Be leery as well of the Man in all White
For he will enjoy you immortal this night.
So come to the party in balance you see,
For without this White, then Black could not be.
Come here and dance amidst Life and Death,
And tonight you may take your first or last breath.
