GARDEN SNACK
GARDEN SNACK
Beneath my weeping willow, all in white,
there sits a lady with a spread of tea;
her summery hat guarantees appetite,
while for comfort, there's a tiny hint of breeze.
All-devouring, this interest in the food,
as each twee sandwich neatly bites the dust;
fine china tinkles, stirred by silver spoon,
a simple scene that’s simply fuelled - by lust.
Oh come, my friends, you know the food chain well :
the simplest makes the complex to survive,
anything less would be Darwinian hell,
and bait is best while it is still alive.
I feel I must intrude, nay, I usurp
this scene, gobble her up, smack lips, and burp ....
