Default Ghost of Violence mistyllspoetry Started This Thread
Lying in the bathtub
naked wearing banana peels
for nipple rings.
Reading the Bible with
God's soap.
Roads to educate the mind.
Faith blind to see.
One enemy against the
saints.
Baptist on the edge
of a razor.
Hooked on the edge
of a wing under the water
closing my eyes and
seeing love beside of me
awaiting death recovering
from the fall.

I die alone asking God
for forgiveness.
The trials are mine.
The skull a bride
for disguise.
The mask a wheel
for the fog.
Under with the angels
and sin.
Dig me.
The grave is blank.

Ink washed to the sea.
The anger flees
mad with a gash of
dust.
Broken under the
wall.

Standing by myself
looking into
the mirror.
The ghost is free.
Bald and wept
to the web of
scenery.

Where is your God?
Is he alive for you?
I lift to live dead
to sleep and the
morning arrives like
a birth of wrong.

Changing to a bed
sheet of lace
undiscovered,
not known.
The remains of
the girl's ghost
of violence, her
bones, the night.
Stars arrived shadowing
the sun's screaming bruise
of orange jars.
Chased in, unafraid
the dance of....
Empty fingers
to a frozen universe.
Your left foot connects to your right foot.
Your soul connects to the heart.
Your eyes connects to the brain and you see....
The beauty of life standing still on a box of nails digging for rainbows we all want the pain because life is vain but happiness believes in itself.

Very sad and intense, Mysty...and still questioning after death, which turned out not to be a solution? Maybe I'm missing it...I love these kinds of poems anyway, that I have to read ten times! haha!

Please do not forget to comment on the poem also.........

Misty,

What a web we weave with words. What was your inspiration for this poem? Very addictive, and one must use some critical thinking. I love it!

- So beautifully abstract - so beautifully dark! This poem is really intense and the images you evoke with simile and metaphor are astounding - there's a lot going on in this poem - but the pain, cynicism & straight-laced pessimism is apparent - almost to the point where the pessimist becomes optimistic after reading such dark lines... Interesting turnabout actually and then the title itself is aptly subtle as if the violence leaves the reader, for the writer has shared an epiphany of sorts: Don't let it happen hear...

Ah - that we may have faith that we actually believe.
Intriguing write MISTY = Thanx for sharing it with us

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---
