Old habits die hard and I can't say I feel any guilt.
It's never felt better to avoid your trust.
You can't pretend I don't exist.
Today is decision day

Either me or the other me.
I don't think you've ever seen me before.

Dear Flookyyy,

I love your poetry! A lesson to self and well learned. The title first captured my attention, and just wow! This is like looking in a mirror and seeing your true self and the image of yourself masked by intrusions of the other person. I love love love this. What was your inspiration for this? Awesome post!!!

Kim

Thank you very much for reading and commenting
My inspiration was myself to be honest.. A while ago I was split between who I was and who I used to be. And so one day I finally made the decision of who I really wanted to be in life, and let go of my other persona. This is a subject I'm sure a lot of people can relate to, and for that reason I felt it would make a good post.
I'm very glad you enjoyed it.

Flook x

Flooky, I read your work and can't stop saying, "WOW!!!" The images, the emotions are so vivid I can almost reach out and touch them!

Have I mentioned I'm in awe? So good, so honest, so any superlative I can think of, lol.
Have I also mentioned I'm considering adopting you as a sister? Kim and I are already sisters, would you like to join our family? I haven't discussed it with Kim but I'm sure she'll agree!

hugs,
Gail

You know, if that's you in your avatar...you look exactly like your poetry sounds...and it's hard to imagine that you were ever caught between who you were and who you are..."the becoming" sometimes catches up with some late in life and it's too late to make the "needed" cut...so glad you found "yourself".

Very gutsy and tenaciously truthful poetry...love it!

P.S. Why does it have to come down? I think it serves as a beacon to those who have yet to find themselves buried inside who they think they are.

Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical, and expecting more than others think is possible."
