The Journey

my road leads me far from homeland
but I'll never, ever say goodbye
and I feel better than I ever felt before
waiting for that clear blue wind to take me home again
~
sheaves of diaries weep soliloquies of longing
while footprints claim a new journey’s pulse
etched yet familiar cobblestone paves serenity
my quiescent mind begins to see
~
shimmers of light harbinger a new destination
the neon signs of experience pulse
guiding my striding along as I’m gliding
welcome tidings to which I’m abiding
~
and I shall not pause to ponder
at the depths of my new found wonder
I shall instead, tarry just a moment
to breath in the life that does surround me
~
breathtaking be the splendor of my newfound existence
rogue waves no longer penetrate my sanctum
my purpose, now crystal clear, moves me forward
I’m ready now, ready to return home a wiser man
~
so in the end, one must recall
the starting place from which we roam
your knowledge gained along each quest
should always lead you back to home

Wow! You 3 have a nice collaboration - Really nice YAWL! The styles mesh quite nicely - you can tell the distinct style of each Poet - but the tempo is kept nicely so that it makes for an interesting read with different perspectives that lead to the lovely epiphany: You CAN come home again!

Nice rebuke of Thomas Wolfe's "You can't go home again."
