"THE LAST HUG." (Poem). stardust Started This Thread
Poem: "THE LAST HUG." Author: Monica Bertrand.

Why do you cry crocodile??
It wouldn´t say a word nor lie.
Our leader went to the sea.
The waters were rough, not calm.
Although, he insisted to swim.
His friendly crew watched from his boat...
Why do you cry crocodile??
It wouldn´t say a word nor lie.
I miss his touch...
Our leader dived into the sea.
The tempest arose its madness...
As he gave his last hug and die.
There is a flood of tears,
Because Steve is no more near.
He would give no more hugs.
The crocodile says, as it cries and cries.
All the other animals heard, and cried aloud:
What has happened to Steve??...
They all say together as a crowd...
Why couldn´t he let it be and live!!
There is a flood in the whole world:
Oceans, rivers, ponds and lakes.
All crocodiles and other animals cry, cry and say,
As they flood all waters from their tears.
We can´t help crying. We miss his touch.
Because Steve is no more near.
He would give us no more hugs or love.
The crocodiles say, as they cry and cry.
Can you see now, Why the flood in the waters!!
We cannot stop nor say a lie.
Our leader´d dived and gone into the sea.
He´d given his very best all his life.
Now, Steve´d given his last hug and died.

Author: Monica Bertrand. (Written on September 4th, 2006). It was dedicated to Steve Irwin, the most popular Australian TV Star, called "The Crocodile Hunter," from Animal Planet. He passed away on 9/4/06. I offer this little Poem for the memory of Steve Irwin, who now dwells in Heaven´s Lands.
We will all miss him so much!!...Well, I share its words with all of you. Bye for now. Stardust.

I really like this and appreciate the fact that this is one site where people aren't joking about the matter or sayin shit (excuse my language) like he shoulda stopped messin with them damn animals or he deserved it....When you look at it he died doing something he put his whole life into, exploring and learning of animals, A thing to consider for anybody who takes it as somethin that isn't serious is that people die over what they love...War Heroes, Rappers, Poets, Artists, etc... Why is that so different than being killed by an animal? Life's dangerous no matter where you are and when itz your calling then it's time for you to depart this life and move on, the manner in which it happens should never be a joke or something taken lightly....One other thing that was on my mind as I read this was that a really good friend of mine looked up to this guy because she also shares a love for animals....I had to try and soothe her because she called me crying about it...;Thank you and if you don't mind i'm going to share this piece with her

Hello KingAce!! Thank you for your comments!!... Let me tell you how I feel, so that, you can understand my Poem. I loved Steve Irwin!! I wrote 2 Poems over his memory already. My other Poem is "YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL." I dedicated this one for his little daughter, Bindi Sui, who is only 8 years old. I cried so much over Steve Irwin´s loss. He was a HERO to me, and to many people around the world. The whole world have lost the most important Conservationist, at the present time. Steve Irwin did for the Conservation of Wildlife and Endangered Species of Animals, what nobody else has done before. He founded an Australia Zoo Foundation. He Donated so much money to save the Animals, and the loss of habitat. Steve Irwin called it: "WILDLIFE WARRIORS WORLDWIDE." Steve Irwin called himself a Wildlife Warrior. I personally feel, so depressed and sad for his loss. I cried a storm of tears. I took it so seriously that, I just can´t get over the pain in my heart over his sudden death. I have the address of his Foundation, and his Australia Zoo in Queensland. If you are interested or your friend is interested, please, feel free to write to me again, and ask me for all the Information I have on this matter. I have the Addresses to write to, in case, somebody would like to share a Poem to Steve Irwin´s Family, or a letter, or some words, or whatever they feel to say to his dear family. I have already sent My Condolences to Steve Irwin´s Family. You see, I am also a lady, and a Wildlife Warrior Worldwide. Again, I loved Steve Irwin so much, and I cried so much...I just can´t believe that he is gone. I wish, Steve Irwin were ALIVE today!! Now, he is in Heaven with God, in God´s Lands. His dear family and friends, and the people around the world, who loved him, will miss him so much, along with all the Animals. In my Poem: "The Last Hug," I meant, there is a flood of waters in the world, because of all the tears shed for Steve Irwin´s loss. I could not stop crying. My husband got a little jealous about it. I just could not help crying so much....Bye for now, dear. Let me know, if your friend or you, would like to have the Addresses to write to Steve Irwin´s Organization. See you soon, Stardust.

Honestly no disrespect at all but I personally wasn't a big fan but I admired his strive and inspiration to do what he did and it would mean a lot if I could get those addresses for my friend....I mean honestly I prolly won't send anything cuz I didn't know much about him and it would be shady to just jump on the bandwagon because of his death But I have all the respect in the world for him and his family I wish them well and hope they can cope and be able to deal with the death....Nothing but love and respect for him and his family, But it would mean a lot to me and her if you could get me those addresses....Thank you so much and I'm sorry it happened and has caused you so much grief, I understand your pain...never really lost a role model but I've lost a lot of people that were close to me...

Hello Stardust!
What a beautiful tribute you have written here! Animal lovers everywhere mourn the loss of Steve Irwin. Who knows how much more he would have accomplished had he been given the chance. Your appreciation of his accomplishments and your grief at his passing come through very clearly in your heartfelt words. If you have the address for the Wildlife Warriors, perhaps you could post it right at the bottom of the poem?
