I really like this on Mike. I like the way it's laid out, I can totally here this as a spokenword piece. The way it's written makes me think of We Real Cool By Gwendolyn Brooks - the emphasis on on the one word lines.

Makes for an interesting read. Do you ever record yourself. Would certainly be interesting to see how you recite this one.

Thanks for the share.

Jacquii.

Thank you! Yes, I played around with some of that and this may be one of them. They turned out better than I thought they would. I have so many friends that take the stages, many of them with theatrical voices that command you listen. I feel that I could never match what they do on stage, but that my words are at least on an even keel with the best of them. I have been told of an open mike night here in OR if you are interested.

Oh wow! I've never actually read for an audience before - if ever this happens - it'll be a first.
Where's the open mike night at? I have a friend who might be interested too - she does a lot of acoustic guitar - would be interesting to see if we could put something together hmmm...

The mood of despair stayed consistence through out this work.
Then in the end, it seem you end it with a smile!
I've never seen that done before...nicely done!

I too love the one word lines Mike. This execution brings this piece a new dimension that causes one to pause and absorb the words, one layer at a time. I love this Mike and thank you for sharing. Yes...would love to hear this on mike...Mike...lol
