LOSING OUR NATION

The rise in price for gasoline
Is the highest we’ve ever seen.
Oil companies are only seeing green
Not environmentally, if you know what I mean!
They say it’s all about supply and demand
They have the supply, more money they demand!

As the rich become richer, the poor stays poor
American Citizens can’t take it anymore.
The economy is quickly falling apart
Our Government won’t take it to heart.

Since the beginning of the Bush Administration,
We’ve been losing a really great Nation.
Our leader doesn’t see us heading for a recession,
But majority of Americans are in a state of depression.
Foreclosures, credit card debt, and unemployment, Oh My!
Will we ever be told the truth, or just lie after lie?

A true leader would give the people what they need,
Instead of dealing in corruption, power, and greed.
Time will tell if we’ll ever bounce back,
From the day President Bush began the War in Iraq!

One of the first things I learned on many sites is that if you don't want to start an argument, don't talk politics. I've stuck with that rule all this time and plan to do so now, lol.

I will say I agree on most of what you're saying here and love the way you say it. I've made some minor changes and put them in bold for you.

It's a sad time we're living in, but things could be much worse. There are countries which can not feed their citizens, countries where the citizens can not protest in open, and countries where what we make in a year wouldn't buy a bag of groceries.

I'm happy to be living in this wonderful, free country where we are able to write such as this without being censored.

I love what you've written here. You have a free and easy style which is delightful to read.

hugs,
Gail
