Love is blind to those
Who do not understand the meaning
Or posses the ability
To act upon such emotions
And properly contain themselves
Love sees it all
But some cannot see love
For love has no symbol
Shape nor form
Love is but an imagination of truth
Being portrayed from the fictional heart.

great poem on a highly abused concept. really sent me off on an abstract hunt for possible meanings behind love.

the heart seems like another overused concept abused to the point that it has lost it's meaning. although from experience, it would seem that the chest feels sunken or broken when one loses a beautiful chemistry with another. my guess is that it has something to do with chakras and how through sharing that connection we get with another these energies or 'life forces' or whatever meld over time. and maybe some of these connections are concentrated to only the lower part of body :\ while some are just kind of made for each other and it builds to the almighty "love" in no time. i don't know. great style. i like the high meaning with little reading.

Food for thought indeed!

This made for quite an interesting read actually, though I'm not sure I completely agree. Hmmmmm - perhaps "Love is but an imagination of truth" as you so eloquently put it. But what of "truelove" though? I wonder if you believe there's a difference between "love" and "truelove", however subtle or blatant the distinction may be...

Anyway - thanks for sharing - I enjoyed this read. I do wonder though, what's inspired this write? Jake said it's a bit harsh LOL - I tend to agree, but I wonder if there was a bitter experience that inspired this poem?

Things that make ya go hmmmmmm.

Jacquii.

Not as absurd as it coming from me ==> The uber-pessimistic optimist LOL

an imagination of truth .. yea that and much more, its more like a master magician had waved his wand at you and then you wake up knowing nothing was real and still you cant rid yourself of the doubt " maybe not". great write .. no form, no shape, yet we strive so hard to put form and shape to it, media, music, movies .. all trying to put a face to love and if there is a higher power I'm sure our hypocrisy is hilarious to him and the fact that we may never know truly tickles his funny bone.

Fairy tales, love stories, "fictional hearts".... just glimpses of any story teller's imagination.... his perception of truth infused with his feelings. Perhaps love IS imagination of truth.

I enjoyed reading not only the poem but all of the comments.
