Always untimely, a lifting awareness.
Remembrance squandered of fantasy’s gift.
Welcoming days, a gaze of reluctance.
In circling monotony, priorities sift.

Reality falls in sprinkles of weight.
Embracing return of paradoxical sleep.

Hi Jake and welcome to the forum - Please familiarize yourself with the JPiC Posting Policy as well as the forum etiquette section. Also - feel free to introduce yourself over at the Member Introductions section.

Regarding your poem - I like it. It inspires deep thought, nice word placement. Very nice use of English for such a tiny poem, not a word wasted.

I think rather than laziness perhaps this piece is a theme on inspired bordom LOL - Perhaps like some sort of lethargic thought process right before consciousness fades away to nap. Inspired bordom of a different plane. Metaphysical transcendence of some sort happens here. Lucid searching. Nice title.

Okay- I'm rambling... Anyway - thanks for the share. I look forward to reading more of your stuff and hope you feel inspired to comment other Members' writing as well

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---
