Michelle the monkey
swang from tree to tree
She was moving fast
so nervously

Her arms would grasp
and wrap around
the straying branches
up and down

Her heart would beat
so fast and loud
She couldn't feel
inside the crowd

She started screaming
in a voice so high
scared that she
would fall and die

She curled herself
up in a little ball
She breathed so quiet
not a sound at all

She saw a bubble
where she could stay
and went inside it
to float away

To the blue sky
a soft spring breeze
that whispered to
the swaying trees

She calmed herself
without a sound
and gradually landed
on steady ground

Michelle got anxious
She had real fear
But found a safe place
It could disappear
