Nothing puts me to sleep at night like
the sound of music
Its like a drug running through
my veins
And I'd kill myself without it

I don't need drugs or alcohol
to get off
I just need a turntable and a lonely
place to lay my head and dream

And maybe someday you'll understand
my need is this over anything
I don't need a lover but I need a friend
I don't need a hundred bucks
just enough to cover the bills

Music takes me to a place
where magic is made
Its my place of solitude
Its all right here in my heart
and my head
and its beautiful

Music is where my heart goes
and this is the only love I know

Dear Lee-Ann,

How beautiful and so so so true. Music is the connection to many emotions, and poetry is music as well. I loved the concept of this, and could picture that very line I quoted. All I need is to close my eyes and dream a while...while poetry is playing...loved it!

Hi LEEANN - this is such a passionate poem - I feel the same about music actually - All types of music: classical I love, jazz I adore, R&B I'm fanatical about, hiphop... sometimes, gangsta rap for special occasions, country music...every blue moon (but don't tell anyone )

So yes - this poem is really nice, as I relate to the words - I lay down to music and I awake to music - It's one of my passions and you've written a lovely poem in tribute to it.

This poem is AMAZING Every little ounce of it is truth! Music is the best thing for soul, life, and even sleeping. I would literally kill myself without music o_o I almost always have either my Ipod or Laptop playing something xDDDDD Anywho really deep meaning dedicated to the best thing in life, MUSIC!

Yeah music is amazing, it makes me happy. I listen to lots of different bands and what not. My boyfriend does not like music that much... So I often, have to listen to it with a head set or while he is playing WoW (World Of Warcraft), which sucks, but I am respecting his feelings...
