O' Moon,
my ally in darkness,
'twas you who made me late,
my quick step to abate
How you illuminate
my errant path!

To you,
I owe my tardiness,
and your effervescent trait,
who cause my feet to wait
and linger in your sweet
pearlescent bath!

"There is no expedient to which a man will not go to avoid the labor of thinking" Thomas A. Edison

Thank you! I have always loved bathing in the glow of a full moon. No werewolf here, just a pure love of light!

Good classic type writing. Flows good and marks a good flow to the pen.

Thank you, Misty. I have always been very selective about my word choices, especially in shorter pieces where it's very easy to leave poetic toolmarks. The key to achieving that all important flow is control - just like riding a good horse. One must relax and move with the animal, tugging at the reins only when necessary. The horse, or the words, know what to do.

James,

This verse has been well thought out before word placement and you have given us some great thoughts to ponder: "ally in darkness" These words help the reader to be in the poem with you. "illuminate my errant path" good food for thought of a mysterious path which is said to be off course of ? "sweet pearlescent bath" This is my favorite as now I see why you are tardy and errant etc. you can't get out of the "tub" with the moon bathing you so!

Enjoyable creation!

Thanks!
